Welcome to the place where you can follow Roma Female Activism daily, from March 8th through April 8th – from International Women’s Day through International Roma Day.

We are female activists from 25 organizations and initiatives, gathered in Roma women network.

This year marks the 6th Anniversary of the Month of Roma Women Activism campaign, which is held annually from March 8th through April 8th. During this period we intensively focus on everyday problems of Roma women in Serbia. We want to capture people’s attention, in order to change the popular opinion about us, currently full of stereotypes and prejudice.

During the past six years, we succeeded in being catalysts of change – from non-existing positive media reports on Roma women and activism at the start, we reached a record of three reports a day during our last campaign!

However, we are still facing a lot of difficulties. Decrease and insufficient financial support influence our work and productive functioning of our groups. We have accepted this situation as a challenge! We are determined to keep Month of Roma Women Activism in life and we have shifted the campaign to this online location, using social networks and interactive program for the citizens of our country and beyond.

Campaign officially starts right before International Women’s Day – on March 7th, with a get together to discuss upcoming activities. Signs for the Women’s March will be created then. Our Roma women network will participate in the march with other activists from Serbia as part of the feminist movement. Join us!
